De volgende diesel is er eentje van Alfa, volgens een bericht in de laatse Autosport zien we in 2007 wellicht 6 Alfa's 147 aan de start. 4 op benzine en 2 stuks die moeten voorgloeien bij de start 
Waarom diesel? Simpelweg marketing. Het aantal verkochte Alfa's met een dieselkrachtbron neemt een steeds groter martkaandeel in. Met een WTCC deelname krikt men het sportieve imago op van de diesels. N-technology zou assistentie kunnen verlenen bij het runnen van de wagens.
